Project Engineer - Commercial Department

Are you a recent graduates from a construction, engineering or related field looking to build a career in a team environment? If so, this Project Engineer job is for you!

This position is supporting more senior staff while learning the business. The job will include emphasizes a combination of solid contribution, opportunities to observe higher level activities and providing feedback and support for development in the position.   The work will include a clear, organized and well-documented framework to ensure compliance with contract documents, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. The Project Engineer will be introduced to other more advanced concepts over time. 

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the construction process and ability to anticipate, identify and promptly address issues that impact performance risk and timing of project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to read & interpret construction drawings, plans & specifications
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.  Experience using other construction software is a plus.
  • Ability prioritize and make timely decisions either independently or with support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with an ability to build long-term customer relationships with customers
  • Desire to work as a collaborative member of a construction project team
  • Self-starter, with a strong work ethic
  • Interest in continual learning and development
