IntWork is seeking a
Project Hydrogeologist with a master’s degree or 3 to 5 or more years of experience.
As Project Hydrogeologist, you will work as part of our Client's Water Resources team and will report to a principal and several project managers. Based in Southern, Maine, this job also requires frequent travel to other states.
You will have a rare opportunity to provide water purveyor clients with innovative solutions in the areas of wellfield supply; regulatory compliance; and well construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation under the guidance of a leading expert in wellfield management; and managing groundwater source of supply for the country’s largest privately-owned water utilities. Assignments may also support other SME clients in a wide variety of industrial, municipal, and commercial projects throughout the Eastern U.S.
What you'll bring:
- a strong understanding of hydrogeologic principles,
- self-directed with the ability to collect and manage field data, manage large databases, and conduct detailed data analysis
- support supply well construction, regulatory, maintenance, and redevelopment projects, as well as: • assist in the production of proposals, reports, permits, and bid packages
- communicate clearly and effectively.
- Because the Project Hydrogeologist works closely with a team of multidisciplinary professionals and frequently interacts directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and the public, your strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) are important.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering with a masters degree or 3+ years of experience in the environmental consulting business
- A deep understanding of physical and chemical hydrogeology • Experience with well construction, maintenance, and redevelopment
- Extensive field experience
- Proven experience and/or exposure to:
- water well related concepts and projects including: overburden and bedrock stratigraphy and water yielding principals, well construction, pumping test performance and analysis, and basic water chemistry
- regulatory guidance and State and Federal water quality MCLs and MEGs is a plus, and o field work is required, and as such, experience in performing field activities is paramount
- Excellent communication, organizational, technical, and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel
