Are you able to verify design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations? Are you able to seek technical information from peers when problems are encountered and expected to be outside of one’s own area of expertise?

As a Civil Engineer, you will design subdivisions, grade plans, drainage, paving and sewers. You will input data into pre-written computer programs and complete design calculations.


You will be:

• Researching code requirements and design procedures manuals.
• Verifying design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations.
• Utilizing AutoCAD and various software applications.
• Visiting project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
• Coordinating with other engineers, technicians, and administrative assistants during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements.
• Preparing draft correspondence, technical specifications and reports.
• Attending and participates at client meetings, as appropriate.
• Communicating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.
• Coordinating final design computations with review agencies.
• Coordinating utility disposition on projects with involved utility companies.
• Preparing draft cost estimates, periodic reports covering construction activities, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer desired.
• Civil design experience including subdivisions, grading plans, or streets.
