You'll work with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality to promote sales, quality, and on-time shipment of our manufactured equipment.
What You'll be Doing:
- Engineer and design new electrical systems for products and/or modifications to existing products from a set of written specifications following established professional practices and procedures for electrical engineering
- Establish and maintain company electrical design standards and policies
- Control product costs through design considerations for lowest cost materials and DFA approaches
- Perform complex design calculations to ensure proper function and safety of specialized machinery (ie safety circuits, fusing)
- Assist Sales by providing technical expertise, including direct customer contact, as required
- Provide Quality and customer service support, as applicable; including site visits to evaluate and resolve machine performance problems
- Support Manufacturing with site visits and issues on the production floor during assembly to ensure timely completion of ECRs / ECNs
- Support Purchasing with issues regarding part obsolescence and annual cost reduction initiatives
- Define, direct, and perform inspection and testing on manufactured electrical systems as part of product development or analysis, as well as failure analysis
- Ensure design compliance to applicable specifications, codes, and established safety requirements
- Optimize use of CAD to minimize errors and interferences in design, and to control costs
- Provide consulting support to others within the design engineering group to ensure efficient utilization of the existing design base
- Participate regularly in process improvement projects
- Perform Risk Assessments, have the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate hazards associated with industrial and commercial equipment use
- Perform other duties and complete other projects as may be assigned or requested
