Lead Civil Design Engineer

The successful candidate will:
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams and nationwide offices and client/project locations.
  • Lead development of technical approaches, specifically as related to preparing design-phase documents (design reports, drawings, technical specifications), obtaining project permits, and implementing remedial construction.
  • Manage design teams of engineers, scientists and CAD designers to develop complete site/civil/remediation design packages for construction. Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Prepare proposals, project technical reports, and regulatory compliance submittals.
  • Manage and develop remedial alternatives assessments and cost analyses, remedial action work plans, and construction cost estimates.
  • Manage and implement treatability tests, pilot tests, pre-design investigations.
  • Administer and/or manage construction-phase engineering support including submittals review, contractor pay requisitions, change orders, requests for information.
  • Understand and adhere to client objectives for remedy implementation and perform designs consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Coach staff in understanding client needs, technical aspects of project delivery, technical writing, and provide leadership and management of remedial design projects.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • B.S. degree in civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering (geotechnical, environmental geological), environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or other related discipline (10+ years)
  • M.S. degree strongly preferred
  • Experience, including the preparation of design plans and technical specifications for remediation of contaminated sites, including earthwork and site/civil aspects of remedial construction projects; design/build experience is a plus
  • Design of landfill capping and liner systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong technical writing skills
  • PE license required
  • CAD experience a plus
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training
